1. AI helps beat super-bugs
A February 2025 report in Chemistry World describes a computer model that generated more than half-a-million new antimicrobial peptide ideas and picked two that cleared deadly infections in mice. The trick? A “latent-diffusion” system that explores chemical space faster than a PhD student can brew a coffee. Chemistry World
2. A tiny peptide slows triple-negative breast cancer
Researchers writing in Oncogene have found a micro-peptide, miPEP205, that cut both tumour growth and spread in aggressive triple-negative breast-cancer models. Still early, but proof that short chains can punch well above their weight. PubMed
3. Diary note: IMAP 2025, Dublin
If antimicrobial peptides are your thing, the 12 th International Meeting on Antimicrobial Peptides runs 25–27 August 2025 at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Abstracts are open now. The European Peptide Society
